I would imagine it’s possible for a barrel to weigh less than 16oz. Some say the magnum research ultralight weighs in at 13oz.

I use a VQ UL barrel in my speed steel competition 10/22 rifle. Slightly lighter than the Kidd barrel but not enough to make a big difference. Have not tried any accuracy shooting with it.
