Web24 mrt. 2011 · Answer. The only way to recover the file is by running an undelete tool. When Excel saves a file on top of an existing one, it first writes to a file with a numeric filename. When the save is succesful, it then deletes the original and renames the temporary file. So undelete software is your only option here I'm afraid.
